March can be one of those months that really drags, especially when you desperately want it to be spring and the weather isn’t cooperating. For some reason this March has absolutely flown by, even though it’s felt a lot more like winter for most of the month.
Spring has gotten a slow start here in Somerville, but my office space has been really perked up by the plant Mike gave me for Valentine’s Day. It’s growing like crazy!
Earlier this month I had the opportunity to fly with my friend Meg to Minnesota to surprise my friend Carly for her 30th birthday. Her husband arranged the whole weekend, which was full of friends, food and fun. We went out to eat, went dancing and got to spend a lot of quality time together. It was my first time ever surprising someone like that and it was such a great experience!
If I thought spring was missing in Massachusetts, it was really hiding in Minnesota where temperatures hovered in the single digits and the wind was howling. I still got in some good runs and plenty of cuddle time with Ralphie. Mike was in Indianapolis the same weekend, so we were both hanging out in the middle of the country.
Our snow is finally melted and with it being gone, we’re seeing the first signs of the new season. I spotted these crocuses popping up on my run yesterday. I can’t wait to see more flowers and get to work in our own yard soon!
Mike and I had a hankering to do something really fun and a bit different this weekend, so we drove up to my old stomping grounds, Salem, to have lunch at the Life Alive there. We had an amazing meal, as always, and really enjoyed the art and quotes adorning the space.
After lunch we went to the Peabody Essex Museum to see the California Design 1930-1965 Living in a Modern Way exhibit. It was awesome! If you live nearby, I highly recommend checking it out while it’s at the museum (through July 6).
