It’s official: I turned 30 last Thursday. I know a lot of people are upset about this milestone birthday, but I’ve never felt better or been happier. I had a co-worker at my first job who told me she loved turning 30 and being in that decade because she felt like her true self. At age 22, I thought she was insane. Now, I totally get what she was talking about.
For dinner on my birthday we dined at Life Alive, one of my absolute favorite restaurants, where I got my favorite dish (Goddess Bowl) and kombucha. Afterward we got ice cream (peanut butter chip) from Christina’s and cheered the Bruins on to victory against Montreal.
We drove up to my parents’ house in New Hampshire on Friday to spend time with them before I ran the Big Lake Half Marathon the next morning. And despite the bad weather (chilly, rain), I managed to pull off a HUGE PR (1:36:49, five minutes better than my previous time)!
I chose to go to O Ya, a highly rated Japanese restaurant in Boston, for my special meal. And it was warm enough to wear a dress with no sleeves!
Sunday ended up being the most gorgeous day of the year so far and we knew we had to take advantage of it. We packed up a picnic, hopped in the BMW (with the top down) and headed over to the Arnold Arboretum for the Lilac Festival.
