How is it July tomorrow? After months of longing for warm, sunny summer days, I already feel like they’re slipping by way too fast. I’m trying to hold on tight and soak it all up as much as I can.
Mike and I had a weeknight date last Wednesday to one of our favorite local restaurants, True Bistro. The food is absolutely phenomenal and often provides great inspiration for our home cooking.
I donned my best ’90s garb on Friday night to help host a prom fundraiser for Somerville Local First, where I’m on the board. The event was a big success and really fun!
I hit up the farmers market as usual on Saturday morning and scored some gorgeous strawberries. The fresh produce growing right now is so good and I can’t get enough.
Our garden is also looking amazing and I spent a lot of time relaxing in our new chairs after a long week. It’s so beautiful back there now, I almost can’t believe it’s the same space as when we moved in.
On Sunday I decided to do a little exploring during my run. I headed over to Fresh Pond and ran around it and up the Alewife Reservation path. It was a gorgeous morning and the run filled up my soul.
It’s hot here right now and steamy summer days call for cool treats. This peanut butter chip ice cream was just the ticket!
