December Days

Another fun holiday-activity-filled weekend is in the books! This one went by way too fast, but that’s because it was jam-packed.IMG_5301I did a little more decorating and created this centerpiece for our table that I’m quite proud of. It’s in a lower vase, so we can keep it in place even with three-plus people sitting at the table and I just love how natural it is.IMG_5312We had some special visitors this weekend–my mom and dad! They treated Mike and I to an afternoon at the Boston Pops to see the holiday show and it was fantastic. It was our first time and I’m so glad we finally went.┬áThe music and the venue were so beautiful and festive. IMG_5319We had dinner at our favorite North End restaurant, Trattoria di Monica, after and got cannolis at Mike’s. We also finally got Bagelsaurus, which we enjoyed for breakfast and I took muzzy to the farmers market.IMG_5323Mike and I spent the rest of Saturday being elves. Mike is making a beautiful piece for our families for Christmas and I busted out the wrapping supplies.IMG_5327After dinner at home we walked to Somerville City Hall for the Illuminations Tour, a one-hour trolley ride around the city to check out the holiday lights.IMG_5331It was such a fun and festive event! I always tell people Somerville is really a small town and this was the perfect example of that.IMG_5340We had fun singing carols, eating cookies and seeing all the houses lit up for the season.IMG_5348Sunday dawned beautifully and soon we were off to the Jingle Bell Run 5K in Davis Square. I ran with Mike and we ended up tying! We spent the rest of the day watching the Patriots crush Miami and hanging out with Mike’s dad, who came up to have dinner with us.

Now it’s the last week of work for the year and then it’s time to celebrate the holidays!
